Sea Glass Gluttony
Well, it seems some Bermudians are dismayed over the sea glass collecting practices of some tourists on their island as reported in The Royal Gazette. One local complained about seeing a couple of tourists walking away with 5 gallon buckets full of the glassy treasure.
I guess I can understand this person's frustration. If it were one of my collecting spots I wouldn't want it cleaned out of all the sea glass with such selfish desire.
As collectors we should all consider how much we actually need to take with us. It would be considerate to save some for the next visitor. Remember, you are the next visitor no matter where you go.
A little courtesy doesn't hurt.

The Color of Sea Glass?
These days I have noticed more and more products produced for the masses calling themselves sea glass something or other. Most often they are referring to the color that the product comes in. Sea glass candels, sea glass drapery, sea glass etc and usually they are some form of pleasing green/blue hue.
Well, Benjamin Moore has just come out with a sea glass paint (CSP-735) but it looks more like smooshed grasshopper guts than something evoking the ocean breeze.
Where did they find that focus group?

Sea Glass T-Shirts

Looking for something other than sea glass jewelry to give a collecting cohort. Just to break up the routine of making jewelry I have started designing T-shirts with a sea glass theme. It helps to keep the mind sharp to try new and different endeavors.
I will be adding more sea glass designs as time marches on but you can view several I have already for sale by clicking Sea Glass T-Shirts.
Thanks,
